Will The Feline Solarium fit my window and how do I install?
Yes, there are two main housing sizes to allow for use in regular and smaller windows. The height is 17" or 16" (depending on your window), the width is 24" (from side to side), and a depth of 21" from front of sill to back of unit. When ordering please include the height and width of the clear opening of the window when bottom sash is lifted all the way open. To ensure proper fit your order cannot be processed without this information. Installation is quick and easy! No special tools are required, just a screwdriver. The Feline Solarium was designed so no knowledge of mechanics or carpentry is required. It is a very woman friendly product. I am a mechanically challenged woman and I can install it myself. Complete and easy to understand instructions are included. For use in double hung windows only (windows that open up not side to side or crank out). Window frames, sash, and sills must be in sound structural condition. Not intended for use as a child guard, by large dogs, or for storage.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEASURING THE DIMENSIONS OF YOUR WINDOW.
Note: when completing the paypal payment information please include height and width dimensions of the clear window opening. To obtain the clear window opening measurement simply open the window you would like to put The Feline Solarium in (sash lifted up all the way up). Measure the INSIDE of the window frame height and width (the open part of the window). Do not include the frame in this measurement. You are measuring the open space when the window is open. To ensure proper fit your order cannot be processed without this information.
WHAT IS IT MADE OF?
PETG is a transparent thermoplastic chosen for the fabrication of The Feline Solarium because it exceeds acrylic in both strength and durability. The Feline Solarium is constructed to be of the highest quality. Each seam in the main housing is reinforced twice. First, each seam is solvent bonded. Then, each seam is welded with a rod of PETG material. This weld in each seam forms one continuous piece of PETG material adding strength and durability. Welding this rod in each seam eliminates the worry of failing solvent bonding.
The roof of The Feline Solarium is pitched away from the window to ensure water runoff. A drip edge on the bottom of the unit ensures that water does not run back toward the house.
